The Auger Group, Inc., a State of California Corporation does business as FAST-TEK Engineering Support Services. The company is a State of California Corporation. FAST-TEK has fifteen employees at the Point Richmond office. Most of the current FAST-TEK projects are within California, however, the corporation has also performed projects in Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Montana, Florida, Pennsylvania, Canada and Argentina. The company is licensed for contracting in California and Washington.

Olivia P. Jacobs, MS, REA I, NEM is the co-founder and President/Chief Executive Officer of the corporation. She is a Senior Project Manager and Principal Environmental Specialist. She has a master's degree in health care administration and has worked in the environmental industry since 1990, in environmental due diligence, Phase I Environmental Assessments and oversight of all company work. Ms. Jacobs is a State of California Registered Environmental Assessor I, a Nevada Environmental Manager and a credentialed Lead and Asbestos inspector. Ms. Jacobs is a co-founder and the majority owner of the firm.

James A. Jacobs, P.G., C.H.G., REA II is the Chief Hydrogeologist with the firm and is a certified hydrogeologist in California. He is a 3-time Fulbright Award winner in environmental engineering. He is registered as a professional geologist in Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. His expertise is in-situ remediation of hydrocarbons, solvents and metals. He is a co-founder and has been with the corporation since 1990. He has a BA and MA in geology and has been a director on several professional society boards. Mr. Jacobs has published over 100 technical articles and co-authored two CRC Press books: MTBE: Effects on Soil Resources (2000) and The Chromium 6 Handbook (2005).

Rob Nelson, P.G., C.E.G. is a Senior Geologist and Project Manager who has specialized in field methods. He is a Certified Engineering Geologist in addition to being a California Professional Geologist. He has over 20 years of experience in assessment methods. He has managed a variety of complex soil and groundwater remediation projects. He is active in the Northern California Geological Society.

Erik Lervaag, P.E., is a Senior Environmental Engineer and Project Manager. He has a undergraduate degree in biology and a master’s degree in environmental engineering. He is registered in Florida as a professional engineer. He has more than half a dozen years of experience working on remedial projects for both private and public clients. Cases include both petroleum hydrocarbon, chlorinated solvent and pesticide remedial projects.

Jessica D. Moreno is a Senior Environmental Scientist and Project Manager. Since 2000, she has had both project management and remediation system installation experience. She has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and has worked sites throughout California. She is a lead project manager with experience in investigations, site closures and USTCF submittals. She is responsible for several in-situ remediation projects throughout northern California. She has expertise with GPS surveying, Geotracker submittal and is excellent with USTCF package preparation from application to final closure. She joined the company in 2002.

Matthew C. Ryder-Smith is a Senior Environmental Scientist and Project Manager and has worked in the environmental industry since 1997. He has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and has worked in Australia, the United Kingdom and with this firm in the United States since 2004 on a variety of environmental assessment and remediation projects. He is a lead project manager, operates staff support for the company principals and co-ordinates and operates a variety of innovative and complex remediation systems. He joined the company in 2004. He is currently a part-time employee while studying at the Presidio School of Management MBA program in Sustainable Management.

Gavin Fisco is a Staff Geologist and Project Manager with a bachelor’s degree in geology from Colgate University in Upstate New York. He has experience working on stable isotope variation in Ordovician brachiopods from the Trenton Group of Central New York and he participated in a seven week field-camp ranging from the highly metamorphosed Taconics of Vermont to the ancient sedimentary basins of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. Recently he has been involved with the company’s in-situ injection program.

Diego Funes is a Staff Engineer and Project Manager. He has an undergraduate degree in civil engineering. He completed an internship at the Tropical Research and Education Center at the Florida Everglades National Park where he was involved in the sampling of groundwater, water quality data analysis and hydrological modeling. He has over a year of experience in environmental project management with a company in Florida where he worked on a variety of projects, including a landfill capping and wetland remediation project as well as a variety of soil and groundwater sampling projects at military bases.

Sandy Young, Senior Technical Editor and Project Coordinator, has degrees in German and business. She has worked as a technical editor for more than 20 years on a variety of science topics for the Federal government and in the healthcare industry. Most recently she has focused her editing on environmental reports. As a Project Coordinator, she assists in the preparation of the Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund (USTCF) reimbursement packages.

Philipp Ilagan is the Computer Aided Design Drafter. As a CAD Drafter, he prepares detailed schematics of remedial systems and boring logs and maps. He has worked on a variety of engineering drafting projects at FAST-TEK.

Eric V. Austin is the Field Manager. He operated a CME 75 drill rig for ten years in Texas and has operated a Geoprobe for the company. He is involved with field projects as scheduling manager, field supervisor, sampler, and environmental technician. He operates the Geoprobe 5400 rig, collects soil and groundwater samples, sets and collects GORETM modules for surveys, installs iSOC systems, and performs iSOC operation and maintenance for numerous sites. He joined the company in 2003.

Rodney B. Berry is a Senior Environmental Technician. He performs the quarterly monitoring well sampling and operation and maintenance on a variety of in-situ remediation systems. He has four years of soil and groundwater sampling experience. Prior to working with FAST-TEK, he worked as a chemical operator technician and equipment operator in one Ohio refinery. He joined the company in 2002.

Sharon Hardin is the Bookkeeper for The Auger Group, Inc. Her current experience at The Auger Group, Inc. involves American Contractor accounting software.

Wendy Lam is a Project Administrator and Accounts Receivable Billing Clerk. She assists the FAST-TEK Project Managers to track project costs and schedules.

Hermy Tam is an Administrative Assistant. She helps the FAST-TEK Project Managers to expedite the issuing of report and the copy, bind and send operations for reports and letters. She also assists Project Managers with other tasks as assigned.

Jennifer Huang is a Project Administrator and Accounts Receivable Billing Clerk. She assists the FAST-TEK Project Managers to track project costs and schedules.
